Product details

Background & context

From 1940 the 5cm PaK 38 went to the anti-tank battalions and was the first German anti-tank gun that could really achieve something against British cruiser tanks. With tungsten-cored shot it penetrated armour that the 3.7 cm simply bounced off, although the raw material was scarce and strictly rationed. In North Africa the gun remained the most dependable weapon of the German anti-tank troops until the end of the campaign.

On the tabletop

As a medium anti-tank gun, the 5 cm PaK 38 handles tank hunting for your Afrika Korps in Bolt Action. In North Africa it can engage any Allied tank, though it struggles against American medium tanks at long range. Let such opponents come close and hide it well among rocks or folds in the ground. Three metal crew and an oval MDF base are included, and almost any vehicle can tow it.
