Product details

Background & context

Sun-dried mud brick was for centuries the usual building material for houses in North African oases and villages. Thick walls and small windows kept out the heat, and flat roofs doubled as places to work and sleep. In the Western Desert between Egypt and Libya, British forces fought Italian and German formations from 1940 to 1943, and every solid building there became a landmark.

On the tabletop

Set the house by an oasis, a track or in a small settlement, because in the desert every building is an important reference point. Its walls block lines of sight in terrain that otherwise offers little cover. Combined with the ruin from A Gentleman's War, it forms a small village for your troops to fight over. It suits clashes between British, Italian and German forces in North Africa.
