    Background & context

    British armoured formations in the Second World War worked with a clear division of labour. The Churchill was built as an Infantry Tank: slow, heavily armoured and a surprisingly good climber, it stayed with the infantry and soaked up hits. Anti-tank work fell to open-topped tank destroyers such as the Lend-Lease M10 with its 3-inch gun. Out in front went the armoured cars of the reconnaissance regiments, mostly Humbers, which were meant to report the enemy situation, not fight for it. From Tunisia to the Rhine crossing this interplay held up.

    On the tabletop

    Three Churchills, a tank destroyer and a scout car: with these five vehicles you field a British force in Achtung Panzer! with clearly separated tasks. The Churchills advance as a block, slow and heavily armoured, and take the fire on themselves, while the M10 Wolverine looks for a position from which to engage enemy tanks. The Humber drives ahead and reports where the enemy is. The Tank Ace cards turn two vehicles into aces, and asset cards, trackers and tokens are included as well. Because the datacards cover 18 vehicles, you can add further models to the force later.
