Product details

Background & context

On 13 June 1944 Michael Wittmann drove a single Tiger I into the column of the British 7th Armoured Division halted at Villers-Bocage and within minutes shot up tanks, Bren Carriers and half-tracks. That was the end of the division's advance. Balthasar Woll sat at the gunsight for most of the successes and was regarded as the man who could hit even on the move. Woll was later posted away to training duties and survived the war; Wittmann was killed on 8 August 1944 near Cintheaux.

On the tabletop

Michael Wittmann and his gunner Balthasar Woll belong with a Tiger I for actions in Normandy in 1944. Whether the two look out of the hatches as half-figures or stand beside the tank as full figures is your choice during assembly. With a Tiger, which you need separately, you can recreate the attack at Villers-Bocage, in a game or as a diorama. Without the vehicle the pair also works as an objective.
