Product details

Background & context

The Goliath, officially the Leichter Ladungsträger SdKfz 302 or 303, was a remote-controlled tracked vehicle with 60 to 100 kilograms of explosive in its belly. It was steered through a three-core cable that unreeled behind it, and a hit on the cable made the device worthless. The early version ran on electric power, the later one on a petrol engine. Over 7,500 were built from 1942; they were used in Normandy and in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, among other places.

On the tabletop

The Goliath is a remote-controlled German demolition carrier that pioneers steered to its target by a trailing cable. The two pioneers and the small tracked vehicle form a scene for actions from 1942, for example in Normandy or during the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. Since a hit on the cable disables the device, the team needs cover. The Rubicon Kettenkrad 280071, sold separately, suits it as a towing vehicle.
