Product details

Background & context

The Feldgendarmerie wore the crescent-shaped gorget on the chest that earned them the nickname Kettenhunde. Their men directed traffic on the convoy routes, checked papers, rounded up stragglers and guarded prisoners; they were correspondingly unpopular with their own troops and grew ever more ruthless as the war went on. On combinations such as the BMW R75 they were fast enough to keep watch over entire march routes. The Kradmantel was the loose-cut weather coat that kept rider and passenger in the saddle in all weathers.

On the tabletop

The two Feldgendarmerie riders in their motorcycle coats crew the Rubicon R75 combination, which you need separately. They give you a military police patrol that directs traffic at crossroads and on march routes, checks papers or rounds up stragglers. In scenarios the patrol works as a checkpoint, as the escort for a column or as an objective. The figures suit German forces of every year of the war.
