    The Raupenschlepper Ost was Germany's answer to the notorious mud season on the Eastern Front - a fully tracked light vehicle by Steyr that reliably delivered supplies even under the most adverse conditions. The kit allows assembly as an early RSO/01 or late RSO/03 variant and can be richly detailed with a tarpaulin, tarpaulin frame, and snow/mud track pads.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    On the Eastern Front, the notorious mud seasons-the so-called Rasputitsa-made life difficult for conventional wheeled vehicles. The Raupenschlepper Ost (RSO) was developed by Steyr as a fully tracked light vehicle specifically to fill this gap. Deployed from 1942, it proved particularly effective as a tow vehicle for light artillery and as a supply vehicle in impassable terrain. The late RSO/03 variant featured a simplified driver's cab made from sheet metal parts to accelerate production.

    The Raupenschlepper Ost is a tracked transporter for difficult terrain, particularly on the Eastern Front. In the game, it is suitable for resupply, towing tasks, and wintry or muddy scenarios. The snow and bog track extensions underscore its role as a specialized logistical vehicle rather than a combat tank.
