Product details

Background & context

The 2 cm FlaK 30 reached the troops in 1934 and was towed on the Sonderanhänger 51, later on the improved SdAh 52. Its weakness already showed in Spain: at around 120 rounds a minute the weapon jammed too easily, which is why Mauser followed up with the FlaK 38. That did not make it disappear; until the end of the war it stood on lorry beds, in bunkers and on railway wagons. Against ground targets it was feared in any case, and a burst of 2 cm is quite enough against unarmoured vehicles.

On the tabletop

The 2 cm FlaK 30 is the light anti-aircraft gun of German forces in games set in the early and middle war years. Against low-flying aircraft you site it in the open with a clear field of fire, and in ground combat it turns on unarmoured vehicles. During assembly you choose the travelling or firing position and decide whether a gun shield protects the four crew. The SdAh 51/52 trailer can be built either as a gun trailer or as an ammunition trailer.
