    This Rubicon 1:56 scale plastic kit builds either an M4A4 Sherman (Sherman V) or a Sherman Firefly VC. The kit contains 105 parts across 4 sprues, options for open or closed hatches and tank crew figures.

    Historically, the set represents British and Commonwealth Shermans as well as the Firefly conversion with a 17-pounder anti-tank gun.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The M4A4 Sherman, designated Sherman V by the British, had an extended welded hull and the Chrysler A57 multibank engine. The US Army used it only to a limited extent, while large numbers were supplied to Great Britain and other Allied users via Lend-Lease. Many M4A4s were converted into Firefly VCs and equipped with the British 17-pounder anti-tank gun. The Firefly VC went into production in early 1944 and was available in time for the Normandy landings of the 21st Army Group.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    In the game, the M4A4 Sherman / Firefly VC forms an armored combat unit for direct fire support and advancing on mission objectives. The tank can accompany infantry, engage enemy vehicles, and exert pressure on key terrain sections. In Bolt Action / Achtung Panzer! / Chain of Command, it is a flexible building block for tank or combined arms battle groups.
