    Product details

    Background & context

Vierling simply means quadruplet: four 2 cm FlaK 38 automatic cannon on a triangular base with folding seats, handwheels and ammunition boxes. Two foot pedals each fired two opposite barrels, in either semi-automatic or fully automatic mode. The weapon was the most-produced German gun of the entire war and turned up everywhere: behind the Opel Blitz, on the SdKfz 251 and SdKfz 7, on tank hulls as the Wirbelwind, on ships, U-boats and railway wagons.

    On the tabletop

The Flakvierling 38 protects your German force against low-flying aircraft, with four 2 cm barrels firing from a single mount. You build it unlimbered in firing position or hitched up for the march, with the barrels fixed at 0 or 40 degrees of elevation. Set level, it shows the weapon in ground combat against light targets. The Rubicon Sd.Kfz. 7, sold separately, suits it as a prime mover. Four crew figures are part of the kit.
