    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The T-26 was a Soviet light infantry tank used in many conflicts of the 1930s and during World War II. It was based on the British Vickers 6-Ton and became one of the most produced tanks of its time, with more than 11,000 vehicles built. The T-26 played an important role in the Spanish Civil War, at Khasan in 1938, and in the Winter War of 1939-40. Although obsolete at the beginning of the German invasion of the Soviet Union, it remained in service on various fronts until late in the war.
