    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The BM series of multiple rocket launchers was used by the Soviet Union in World War II. The M-13 rocket was one of the commonly used types, and the launchers were intended to quickly cover large areas with explosive charges. In 1943, the Lend-Lease truck Studebaker US6 6x6 was chosen as the standard carrier for the BM-13N version. Such launchers could fire a salvo very quickly but were less precise than conventional artillery and vulnerable to smoke and dust during firing.
