Product details

Background & context

In October 1944 Aachen became the first major German city to be captured by Allied troops. American infantry fought their way forward street by street and blew holes through house walls to avoid advancing along the open road. Tanks and guns fired directly at individual houses where defenders held out. On 21 October 1944 the German garrison of the city surrendered.

On the tabletop

Line up the six houses along a street in which damaged and completely ruined buildings alternate. The damaged houses still offer enclosed rooms, while the ruins give only broken walls and open fields of fire. This creates graded cover that your infantry fight over house by house. With the intact 15 mm townhouse set you can show the same place before and after the attack.
