    Product details

    Background & context

The 14th Marines was the artillery regiment of the 4th Marine Division and backed its landings on Roi-Namur, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. The 75mm pack howitzer could be broken down for landing and manhandled across the beach, so it was often in action soon after the first waves. Further inland the Marines relied on light trucks such as the Dodge WC series, which served wherever American forces fought.

    On the tabletop

The two boxes build a Marine artillery unit together with its own tow. In Bolt Action the 75mm pack howitzer counts as a light howitzer, crewed by three Marines. It lobs shells onto enemies behind cover and can also fire straight at bunkers or positions in its line of sight. The Dodge Weapons Carrier hauls the gun into position and then brings up ammunition or a weapons team. On the table you end up with howitzer, crew and truck for beach landings and island fighting in the Pacific.
