Product details

Background & context

Plank fences divided gardens, back yards and storage areas in villages and suburbs. They offered no protection from rifle bullets, but they did hide whoever was behind them, and that made them valuable in street fighting: troops moving behind a fence stayed out of sight of the enemy on the other side. Many soldiers learned that, when in doubt, it was better to break through a fence than to climb over it.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action, place the single fence section wherever there is still an open gap between two buildings or behind a house. The close-set planks block line of sight but stop very little, so the fence works better as concealment than as solid cover. Agree before the game how you treat it. Behind it a unit can work its way up to a road without being seen.
