Product details

Background & context

On the edge of a village the houses often gave way to a chain of gardens, paddocks and back yards enclosed by tall plank fences. For troops ordered to sweep through, this was a maze: every fence hid the next garden, and anyone waiting behind it only became visible at the last moment. Whole companies were held up in belts of gardens like these.

On the tabletop

With four sections you can run a long plank fence in Bolt Action that separates a village street from the gardens behind it. It blocks line of sight and divides the table into areas that can only be seen through gaps or from a detour. That gives the attacker hidden approaches and the defender blind spots. Combined with walls and hedges you can lay out an entire village.
