Product details

Background & context

A walled farmstead in the Second World War was a small fortress. In Normandy and in Italy defenders dug in behind farm walls closed on every side and forced the attacker to take each corner in turn. The corners themselves gave riflemen a field of fire along two walls at once, which is why machine guns were often sited there.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the corner goes where two straight walls meet. That gives you an enclosed yard, a garden behind a house or a walled churchyard that a unit can hold as a strongpoint. On its own the corner forms a small angle that protects a weapon team on two sides. With several corners you can build complete walled squares.
