Background & context

Nach der Teilung mit Alfred lag der Osten Englands als Danelaw unter nordischer Herrschaft: eigene Rechtsbegriffe, eigene Münzen, Königssitz in York. Die dänischen Herrscher dort waren binnen zwei Generationen Landbesitzer und Christen, ohne die Verbindung zu den Flotten der Heimat aufzugeben. Erst 954 fiel Northumbria endgültig an Wessex zurück.

On the tabletop

Three Viking kings who rule conquered British land lead your Danelaw Vikings in Hail Caesar. After the division with Alfred, eastern England lay under Norse rule with a royal seat at York, and within two generations the Danish rulers had become landowners and Christians. Fitting opponents are the armies of Wessex, to which Northumbria finally returned in 954. The figures are metal.
