    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The development of the Tesla cannon for vehicle platforms was only the beginning. The US Army quickly recognized the need for a field-deployable version as a towed gun. Despite initial problems with radioactive batteries, the M17 Tesla Cannon on Carriage M3 was successfully developed - a direct-fire weapon that could be used against armored vehicles and, with a scatter setting, against infantry.
