Background & context

Hell on Wheels, the 2nd US Armoured Division, was among the heaviest formations the Americans sent to Europe, packed with tanks for longer than usual and correspondingly hard-hitting. After Normandy it chased the Germans right across Belgium until the Siegfried Line and the Roer dams halted the advance. In the Ardennes it met the spearheads of the 2nd and 9th Panzer Divisions at Dinant and wiped them out. In 1945 it helped to encircle Army Group B in the Ruhr pocket.

On the tabletop

With the Shermans you already have a choice at the building stage: 2 are fixed with the 75mm, and the other 3 get the 76mm or likewise the 75mm, as required. The 3 M5 Stuarts with 37mm are fast and take on reconnaissance and the flanks. Against heavy German tanks you field the 4 M18 tank destroyers with 76mm, which use their speed to get a shot in from the side. The 3 M7 Priests with 105mm form the artillery from depth, and the rifle platoon occupies houses and mission objectives. In the end you have the tank platoon, light platoon, tank destroyers, artillery and infantry of a complete tank company on the table.
