Product details

Background & context

In the Second World War Japan's armaments were geared to lightweight construction, because raw materials were scarce and the theatres of war had no roads: islands, jungle, Chinese mountain paths. When Rift technology reached the country by way of its German ally, the drive concept was adopted, not the heavy construction. The result was a forward scout walker that stays low, runs quietly and gets to places where tracks bog down. The fact that its armament could be swapped from sector to sector made it a construction kit for commanders who seldom had the same job twice.

On the tabletop

The Type 6 Ke-Ho is Japan's light reconnaissance walker in Konflikt '47, as fast as the German Spinne but with a lower profile and quieter engine. You choose the armament during assembly: like the early machines it carries only two MG stations against infantry, or, like later versions, you add a rear-mounted weapon. For that, a light anti-tank gun against vehicles and a rapid-firing compression cannon are included. That makes it fit your list as a scout, infantry hunter or light anti-tank asset.
