Product details

Background & context

Germanic tribal warriors are contextualized within ancient warfare in Germania and the Roman border regions. Germanic warrior bands were involved in numerous conflicts with Rome and were described as utilizing impetuous attacks, wedge formations, and forest warfare. Such troops were employed in armies characterized by diverse weapons, varying degrees of protection, and distinct tactical roles. For tabletop armies, this set provides a clear historical building block for Germanic opposing armies in Roman scenarios. The classification is based on the depicted troop type and the historical framework described by the manufacturer.

On the tabletop

With 43 warriors including a warlord, a carnyx player and a standard bearer you can field Germanic tribesmen for Hail Caesar, and they suit Clash of Spears as well. Long spears and heavy wooden clubs that could smash even strong shields make them a force built for the attack. Strike out of the forest in wedge formation, as the warriors of Arminius did against the legions of Varus in the Teutoburg Forest. Extra heads provide the typical hairstyles.
