Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

These four command figures lead your Thureophoroi in Hail Caesar, the troops with the oval thureos shield who stood between light skirmishers and the heavy phalanx. With spear and sword they could do both jobs, and the Successor armies used them in hill country, in sieges and to guard the flanks, wherever a sarissa phalanx would only get in the way. On the table you use them to cover the flanks of your phalanx. The Illyrian helmet makes the figures usable in many Hellenistic armies.
