Product details

Background & context

Farm buildings of this kind changed little over the centuries: rubble stone below, and above it a steep roof of straw or reed that was cheap and could be repaired on site. Stables, barns and storehouses stood like this at the edges of farmsteads across Europe, from Roman country estates to the village lands of the early modern period. For the gaming table, this means a building that cannot be tied to any one era.

On the tabletop

This stone outbuilding with a thatched roof measures 104 x 67 x 59 mm and stands at the edge of a farm as a stable, barn or storehouse. Since buildings like this barely changed over the centuries, in Hail Caesar it suits ancient farmsteads as well as medieval villages. In play it blocks sight and gives cover, or becomes the contested farm in a village scenario. The kit consists of two hard plastic frames.
