Commissar Drugov was always a big, brutal thug - in the Soviet Political Commissariat, he found a natural home where his zeal and combative nature quickly led to promotions. He volunteered for an advanced version of the Ursine program and received a modified treatment that granted him the physical benefits of the procedure without the bestial side effects. Drugov has, nonetheless, remained bestial. On the battlefield, he is accompanied by 'Drugov's Chosen' - two elite Ursus soldiers whom he personally selected for their loyalty and strength.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

In the '47 conflict universe, Commissar Gregor Drugov is a terrifying figure of the Soviet Political Commissariat. Known for his imposing stature and aggressive nature, he became one of the first volunteer test subjects for the Ursine Initiative. While the original Ursus soldiers were formidable, they were atavistic and lacked tactical thinking. Soviet scientists therefore developed a new process: all the strengths of an Ursus, plus human intuition and party-trained reason. Drugov died three times on the operating table, but science brought him back each time - he survived with significant physical enhancements, without the bestial side effects of his predecessors. His notoriety made 'Drugov's Chosen' his constant companions: two hand-picked Ursus bodyguards. Allied and Axis troops have standing orders to eliminate Drugov on sight - so far without success. On the tabletop, he possesses Special Rules such as 'Not One Step Back!' and 'Ursine Fury'.
