Product details

Background & context

The Sea Peoples are considered in the context of ancient warfare in the Eastern Mediterranean. Towards the end of the Late Bronze Age, various groups emerged on the coasts of the Eastern Mediterranean and in Egyptian sources. Such troops were employed in armies characterized by different weapons, levels of protection, and tactical roles. For tabletop armies, the set forms a clear historical building block for Late Bronze Age Sea Peoples and Levantine armies. The classification is based on the depicted troop type and the historical framework described by the manufacturer.

On the tabletop

The feather or reed crowns on their helmets mark these eight armoured warriors as Peleset or Denyen, who attacked Egypt around 1180 BC. In Hail Caesar or Clash of Spears, armed with sword, javelins and shield, they form a close-combat unit that throws its javelins first and then charges. You can also use them for other Sea People tribes, or as Aegean and western Anatolian infantry such as Trojans.
