Product details

Background & context

Hamlets and farmsteads lay in the way in almost every European campaign: they controlled crossroads, offered quarters and were therefore attacked, held and reduced to rubble. What was left standing afterwards were remnants of gables, half walls and open cellar holes, exactly the silhouette this kit reproduces. Because the architectural style is kept plain, the village works for Napoleonics just as well as for 1944 or for a fantasy skirmish.

On the tabletop

The modular wall and corner pieces build three shattered farmhouses, six small four-walled ruins, or one or two larger buildings. That way you decide during assembly how dense your hamlet becomes. The ruins block sight and give infantry cover, and set close together they lead to fighting at short range in the village centre. From the Napoleonic Wars to the Second World War the kit suits many periods.
