Background & context

Pompeius machte unter Sulla Karriere, räumte 67 v. Chr. das Mittelmeer von Piraten und ordnete den Osten des Reiches neu - der Beiname Magnus war Programm. Crassus, reich geworden mit Grundstücken im ständig brennenden Rom, schlug den Aufstand des Spartacus nieder, musste den Ruhm dafür aber Pompeius überlassen. Der Riss blieb. Crassus fiel 53 v. Chr. bei Carrhae gegen die Parther, Pompeius verlor 48 v. Chr. bei Pharsalos und starb kurz darauf in Ägypten.

On the tabletop

Pompey and Crassus lead a second Roman army in Hail Caesar, as Caesar's partners in the triumvirate or as his opponents in the civil war. Pompey started out under Sulla, defeated the pirates and the forces of Mithridates VI, and lost to Caesar at Pharsalus in 48 BC. Crassus put down the Spartacus revolt and fell against the Parthians at Carrhae in 53 BC. That gives you scenarios against Romans, Pontic forces, slave armies and Parthians. Both figures are metal.
