Background & context

James Graham, Marquess of Montrose, led one of the most remarkable campaigns of the Wars of the Three Kingdoms from 1644 onwards. With Irish professional soldiers under Alasdair MacColla and levied Highland clans, he defeated one Covenanter army after another within a single year, until Philiphaugh threw him back in 1645. Anyone refighting these campaigns on the gaming table needs markers for casualties - because in the end it was losses that broke Montrose's run of success.

On the tabletop

For the Scottish Royalists under Montrose, this pack provides 18 casualty markers in Warlord Resin, with fallen men and downed horses. In Pike & Shotte place them next to a regiment as soon as it takes losses, showing how much the formation has already suffered. They accompany Montrose's campaign from 1644 with Irish professional soldiers and Highland clans through to the defeat at Philiphaugh in 1645.
