    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    Unprotected Persian archers are considered in the context of ancient warfare in the Achaemenid Persian Empire. They represent the great importance of ranged troops in Persian armies and could be used in formation or as skirmishers. Such troops were employed in armies characterized by different weapons, levels of protection, and tactical roles.
