Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

A leader, trumpeter and standard bearer give your block of Persian sparabara a command base in Hail Caesar. The sparabara set up their large wicker shields as a wall while the archers shot from behind, and you build the unit the same way on the table. Orders were passed by trumpet calls and standards, because nobody in the deep block could hear the leader's voice. Suitable opponents are the Greek hoplites of Marathon and Plataea. All three figures are metal.
