Product details

Background & context

The North Vietnamese army received Soviet T-54 and T-55 tanks as well as Chinese copies designated Type 59. Larger armoured formations only appeared late in the war, for example in the 1972 Easter Offensive at the demilitarised zone and in the Central Highlands. In the final offensive of 1975 the tank columns pushed rapidly south. On 30 April 1975 a tank of this family broke through the gate of the Presidential Palace in Saigon, marking the end of the war.

On the tabletop

Put the half figures in the hatches of your T-54 or T-55 and the vehicle shows from afar that it is advancing with hatches open. Place the full figures next to the tank, for example as a crew taking a break or carrying out maintenance. Games set in the offensives of 1972 and 1975 usually need several vehicles, so spread the seven figures over two or three tanks. The parts are assembled with superglue.
