Product details

Background & context

Without fuel every motorised army ground to a halt, and 1944 proved it on both sides. After the Normandy landings the Allies drove their petrol forward in endless truck convoys until the advance stalled in the autumn for lack of it. The German Ardennes offensive in December even counted on capturing American stocks. A stacked fuel dump was always a target worth going for.

On the tabletop

Use the barrel stack as an objective in Bolt Action, for instance when one side has to hold the depot and the other has to blow it up or capture it. At the edge of a vehicle park or behind a field position it shows where the supplies are kept. Infantry can crouch behind the drums, while any vehicle parked next to them makes clear how risky that spot is. Add sandbags or barbed wire around it and you have a guarded supply point.
