Product details

Background & context

In 1944 Normandy was a landscape of coastal defences, villages and small rivers. Behind the beaches of the Atlantic Wall lay settlements with churches, stone walls and bridges that were fought over for weeks after the landings. Whoever held a bridge controlled the supply route, and whoever occupied a church tower could see far inland. Smaller actions therefore often centred on single buildings, walls and crossings.

On the tabletop

This bundle combines two kinds of terrain on one table, village and fortification. Church, ruined house and stone bridge form the village centre, with the bridge as objective and the bell tower as observation post. On the outskirts stand the R612/R680 coastal bunker and the R677, both with removable roofs so you can put guns and crews inside. Eight straight wall pieces, four corners and two gates divide the farmyards, while barbed wire, sandbags and hedgehogs block the approaches. In Bolt Action it sets the scene for battles in Normandy, and church, bridge and walls also work for other periods.
