Product details

Background & context

After the landings in June 1944 the Allies spent weeks fighting through the villages and small towns of Normandy. Every settlement had a church whose tower served both sides as an observation post, and stone bridges over the many small rivers became key objectives. Walls around farms and gardens gave cover, while shattered houses turned into strongpoints. The advance therefore often moved from one village to the next.

On the tabletop

The stone bridge becomes the objective your Bolt Action game revolves around. On one side stands the church, whose bell tower gives an observer or sniper a long view across the table. The two ruined houses offer infantry cover and firing positions along the approach. With 16 straight wall sections, 8 corners and 4 gate pieces you mark out gardens and field boundaries for squads to advance behind. Put together, it makes a Norman village for fighting in the summer of 1944.
