A large manor house of the kind common across Normandy, the building type made famous by the assault on Brécourt Manor on 6 June 1944. Card roof tile strips and a block stone stencil come with the kit.

Background & context

On the morning of 6 June 1944 a small group from Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, led by Lieutenant Richard Winters, attacked a German battery near Sainte-Marie-du-Mont that was firing on the exits from Utah Beach. The paratroopers put the guns out of action even though the defenders outnumbered them. The action later became widely known through Stephen Ambrose's book Band of Brothers.

On the tabletop

Recreate Easy Company's attack on the gun position at Brécourt Manor on 6 June 1944, with the manor house as the centre of the table. Add hedges, trenches and guns to show the battery at the edge of the estate. A garrison fits under the removable roof, and the included stencil lets you paint block stonework onto the walls.
