Product details

Background & context

Mud brick is the oldest building material still in use: dried earth, chopped straw, sun - done. It was used from Mesopotamia across North Africa to Central Asia, because wood and stone were scarce. The thick walls keep out the heat of the day, and the flat roof serves as a place to work and sleep. On the gaming table that means a building that works for the Bronze Age, for the Mahdist uprising in Sudan and for the Western Desert in 1942.

On the tabletop

This mud brick house with its flat roof and thick walls suits many periods. In Hail Caesar it belongs in a Bronze Age village, in Black Powder in a settlement during the Mahdist revolt in the Sudan, and in Bolt Action beside a desert track in North Africa. The walls give occupants cover and block sight lines, while the roof offers riflemen a raised position. The plastic kit is made by Renedra.
