    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The medium retainer infantry represented the professional core troops of the Amorite city-states of the Ancient Near East - known as Sabum Kibitum. They formed the backbone of the armies of the Old Babylonian and Old Assyrian Kingdoms in the early second millennium BC. Equipped with an axe or sickle sword, throwing sticks, throwing spears, and the typical Amorite shield, they were versatile and powerful combat troops. Since the early Hyksos followers were probably also of Amorite origin, these figures are also suitable for Hyksos armies of the Middle Bronze Age.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Medium Retainer Infantry are used in Hail Caesar as mobile close combat or follower infantry for Mesopotamian, Syrian or Elamite Bronze Age city-state and palace armies. In the game, the unit occupies terrain, supports the main line, and attacks vulnerable targets, without taking on the role of a rigid spear or hoplite formation. They work best in conjunction with ranged units, chariots, or heavier troops, so that their mobility and close combat pressure are not wasted in isolation.
