Product details

Background & context

In the Second World War reconnaissance mostly meant: see, report, vanish. The American M8 armoured car was built for exactly that, fast on the road and with a 37 mm gun that by 1944 stopped hardly anything. In the Konflikt '47 setting the job changes, because armoured infantry and light walkers are everywhere and you cannot simply drive past them. The scaled-down Tesla cannon gives the armoured car teeth for that without making it heavier; the compromise lies in the batteries, which wear out suspension and gearbox faster.

On the tabletop

The M8A3 carries the scaled-down Tesla cannon from the Sherman programme and serves your American army in Konflikt '47 as an armoured car with considerably more firepower. Against infantry it achieves more than the old M8, while its anti-tank punch is still enough to threaten German counterparts such as the Spinne and Puma. Because the weapon has no recoil it fitted into the turret with hardly any changes, though the heavy batteries strain suspension and transmission.
