    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Achaeans - also known as the Mycenaeans - were the dominant power in the Aegean region from the end of the Minoan civilization until the collapse of the Bronze Age. In the later period, at the time of the Trojan War, their warriors re-equipped with shorter spears, swords, and shields, and some wore elaborate bronze armor. These figures represent the heavy infantry of this era and can also be used for Western Anatolian peoples such as the Trojans, Assuwa, or Arzawa. The Achaean armies, as rivals of the Hittites and the New Kingdom of Egypt, were at the center of the Late Bronze Age power struggles in the Eastern Mediterranean.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Later Achaean Armoured Spearmen represent a solid spear wall for Mycenaean Achaean Bronze Age armies in Hail Caesar. In the game, they stabilize the main battle line, hold ground, and tie down enemies while lighter troops protect the flanks. The unit performs best in formation and loses effectiveness when used in unfavorable terrain or isolated.
