    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Chinese People's Volunteer Army entered the Korean War in the autumn of 1950 and decisively shaped the conflict. Its officers did not hold classic military ranks but rather functional titles such as Platoon Leader or Company Commander-a legacy of the Communist Party's political structure. The infantry's heavy support weapons frequently included a mix of captured US weapons and Chinese-made arms: The Type 24 machine gun was a Chinese copy of the German MG08/15, while medium mortars of Russian and French origin provided firepower at the battalion level. This tactical flexibility, coupled with a sparse supply situation, characterized the Chinese way of fighting in Korea.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The Support Group Set complements a Chinese PVA infantry list with all essential support elements. The two MMG teams cover flanks and suppress enemy positions - especially effective when positioned in cover. The medium mortar team enables indirect fire on covered targets, forcing the enemy to move. Officers, medics, and a forward observer tactically complete the setup and improve the leadership of your own units on the table.
