Product details

Background & context

The People's Volunteers moved by night and dug in by day, because UN air power ruled the skies over Korea. Their attack tactic was called one point, two sides: a narrow thrust into the seam of the defence while two smaller groups rolled it up from the flanks. Orders were passed by bugle and whistle because radios were in short supply. In this pattern the submachine gun squads went right at the front, where the distance shrank to twenty metres.

On the tabletop

In every rifle company of the Chinese People's Volunteers, two submachine gun squads belonged to the company headquarters. They scouted, provided point security and led the attack, and the commander could split them up when needed. They were issued Soviet PPSh and American Thompson guns from Second World War stocks. In Bolt Action you bring the nine metal figures up to the enemy under cover, because their strength lies at close range.
