    Background & context

In the Konflikt '47 universe the Empire of Japan has found a different path to Rift technology from the Western powers: instead of only building tanks and walkers, it sends its soldiers themselves through the rift. The Ghosts can slip into an in-between space that the army's researchers call Shinobi Space, and strike from there where no front line offers protection any longer. In the Philippines in 1945 the Americans learned for the first time what that means. Two years later whole platoons of these troops form the spearhead of the landing on American soil, led by Kimura Tadaaki.

    On the tabletop

With Kimura Tadaaki, three Shinobi Shadows and 25 Ghost Attack Infantry you put the core of a Japanese Konflikt '47 force on the table in one go. The Ghosts phase into Shinobi Space and strike where no front line protects the enemy, either with fire from Shiboru compression rifles or with the blade. Kimura leads the platoon. The box belongs to Japan's invasion of America in July 1947, while the Ghosts first fought in the Philippines in late 1945.
