The Shibito Squads are an unstoppable plague on the Pacific battlefields of 1947 - reanimated dead, similar to the German Totenkorps, immune to fear and driven to fight until they collapse. US and Commonwealth troops are constantly under pressure on the remote islands of the Pacific. In chilling contrast to the Totenkorps, Shibito Squads are often reanimated from the fallen enemies of the Empire.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

In the '47 conflict universe, Japan - much like Germany - has found a solution to critical personnel shortages: Shibito technology reactivates fallen soldiers as undead warriors, programmed to fight until they are physically unable to do so. Without food, water, or ammunition, these reanimated corpses (explicitly NOT zombies, but rather scientific-occult reactivations) can operate deep behind enemy lines, spreading terror everywhere. Unlike the German Totenkorps, however, Shibito quickly decompose in the hot, humid tropical Pacific environment. A particularly disturbing characteristic: Shibito often bear the faces of former comrades - or, shockingly, the Empire's fallen enemies. Equipped with simple weapons and immune to pain, Shibito squads today form the spearhead of IJA advances against the Allies on the Pacific islands.

Einsatz im Spiel

The Japanese Shibito Squad is Japan's undead variant: 10 reanimated soldiers with grotesque mutations. In the game, Shibito are used similarly to Corpse Squads - as a fearless horde with special rules like Slow/Tough/Mindless. The larger squad size (10) is sufficient for a main battle line in Japanese sci-fi undead-focused lists. Tactics: Advance under the cover of Battle Frame or Exoskeleton Squads, then engage the enemy line in close combat.
