Iberian Cavalry contains 12 cavalry miniatures (plastic); 3 horse body options. The included models are made of plastic and are supplied as an unpainted tabletop kit. The Iberians had inhabited the eastern and southern coasts of the Iberian Peninsula since at least the 6th century BC.

Die Reiter der Iberischen Halbinsel galten in der Antike als die besten des Westens. Sie ritten ohne Steigbügel, kämpften mit Wurfspeer, Falcata und dem runden Caetra-Schild und wichen einem geschlossenen Angriff lieber aus, um kurz darauf wieder zuzustoßen. Hannibal nahm Tausende von ihnen über die Alpen mit; an der Trebia und bei Cannae zerschlugen iberische und keltische Reiter die römische Kavallerie und machten die Einkesselung erst möglich. Nach dem Krieg wechselten viele Stämme die Seite und stellten Roms Legionen in Hispanien ihre Reiterei.

On the tabletop

You field the twelve Iberian riders in Carthaginian armies or, after many tribes changed sides, alongside the legions in Hispania. As at the Trebia and Cannae, they join Celtic horsemen to defeat the opposing cavalry and open the way into the enemy's flank and rear. They evade a formed charge and strike again afterwards. The Span 1 and Span 2 decals suit the shields.
