Product details

Background & context

The Hungarian armed forces were among the Allies of the Axis Powers and were involved on the Eastern Front from early in World War II. Their officer corps was shaped by the traditional Ludovica Military Academy, which had been training cadets since 1872 and produced a professional leadership. The equipment of the Hungarian infantry was predominantly domestically manufactured or developed from World War I stocks - the Schwarzlose machine gun and the 36/39M, based on the French Brandt mortar, were key weapon systems at the platoon level.

On the tabletop

Command, machine gun and mortar for your Hungarian force in Bolt Action come together in this box. The HQ team represents an officer corps that largely came out of the Ludovica Military Academy. The Schwarzlose 7/31M dated from the First World War, yet still keeps enemy infantry under sustained fire. The 36/39M medium mortar, based on the French Brandt design, fires in an arc at targets behind cover and historically used shaped-charge rounds.
