    Background & context

    Rheinmetall entwickelte die Pak 40 zwischen 1939 und 1941, und sie wurde für die zweite Kriegshälfte zur wichtigsten deutschen Panzerabwehrkanone überhaupt. Ungarn, als Verbündeter an der Ostfront gebunden, erhielt sie in wachsender Zahl, nachdem die eigenen leichten Kanonen gegen T-34 und KW wirkungslos geblieben waren. Für die Bedienungen hieß das ein Geschütz von rund anderthalb Tonnen, das sich ohne Zugmaschine kaum verschieben ließ - einmal eingegraben, blieb es dort stehen.

    On the tabletop

    Hungary's infantry divisions received the German Pak 40 when their own light guns could no longer do anything against the T-34 and KV. In your Hungarian force for Bolt Action it is the answer to medium and heavy Soviet tanks. Dig it in with a clear field of fire covering an approach, because without a tractor the gun hardly moves. Four metal gunners are included, suited to the Eastern Front in the middle and late war years.
