    Background & context

    Ungarn zog 1941 als Achsenpartner an der Seite Deutschlands gegen die Sowjetunion und stellte bald ganze Armeen für die Ostfront ab. Im Januar 1943 zerbrach die 2. Armee am Don bei Woronesch, schlecht ausgerüstet und ohne nennenswerte Panzerabwehr - ein Verlust, von dem sich das Heer nie wieder erholte. Ab 1944 kämpften ungarische Verbände dann im eigenen Land, zuletzt in den Straßen von Budapest.

    On the tabletop

    These four command figures give your Hungarian army its headquarters in Bolt Action. Use them to field your officer and his attendants, who lead your platoon and hold it together with orders. Hungarian officers came mostly from the Ludovica Academy, a capable core that could barely keep up with the rapid expansion of the army for the Eastern Front. The group suits games from the Don in 1943 to the street fighting in Budapest.
