Product details

Background & context

Griechische Ingenieure suchten im 4. Jahrhundert v.

On the tabletop

Oxybeles means sharp arrow, and that is exactly what this light engine of the Hellenistic armies shoots. It grew out of the gastrophetes belly bow into a larger weapon on a stand with a stock and a trigger, came to prominence under Alexander the Great and stayed in service with the Successors. In Hail Caesar you place it with its crew next to your phalanx and engage single targets at range. It reloads faster than the heavy stone throwers.
