Background & context

Alexanders Tod hinterließ ein Reich ohne Erben und ein halbes Dutzend Generäle mit Armeen. Ptolemaios griff sich Ägypten und begründete eine Dynastie, die bis Kleopatra hielt. Lysimachos nahm Thrakien, dehnte seine Macht über Makedonien und Kleinasien aus und fiel 281 vor Christus bei Korupedion gegen Seleukos. Vierzig Jahre Bündnisse, Heiraten und Verrat - die Diadochenkriege liefern Szenarien am laufenden Band.

On the tabletop

Ptolemy and Lysimachus on horseback command your army of the Successor period in Hail Caesar. Both were generals of Alexander who took over parts of his empire after his death in 323 BC: Ptolemy took Egypt, Lysimachus Thrace. You can field them as the generals of two opposing armies or put one of them at the head of your own. The Wars of the Successors offer decades of battles for this, such as Corupedium in 281 BC.
